The Special Family Network is a site dedicated to helping the families, friends, and educators of special needs children. It is our goal to provide a place for you to come and share your stories with others, ask your questions, and provide support as you go down this crazy journey called life.

Our pages and catigories are a place for you to find helpful and positive articles as well as a place for you to share your experiences and read the experiences of others. We encourage all families, friends, and teachers to share with us to let others know that they are not alone, and that having a special needs child can be a very rewarding experience.

Unfortunately we do not have enough man power to devote a page to every disorder and disability, so we have a forum that covers a wide variety of syndromes, cancers, learning disabilities, and diseases. Please feel free to post your questions and hopefully you will find the answers and support that you need.

We at The Special Family Network are here to provide information that is correct to the best of our ability. If you feel as though we have published an error in some way, please feel free to contact us. We are not liable for any advice given by us through our written work, podcasts, or any of our users comments. We reserve the right to remove you from our forum if we feel as though you are abusing your forum privileges in any way form or fashion. All we ask is that you be positive and respectful of others.

The Special Family Network was founded in 2007 by Honey Denson, a former teacher and mother of two special needs children. Luke is her oldest and he has Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome. Josh is her youngest and he has Down Syndrome. She wanted to create a site for family, friends, and educators to come and feel welcome, and to let them know that they are not alone in the struggles that they will face as they raise a special needs child. Honey partnered with TKN Ventures LLC. to see her vision come true. She is happy to report that both of her children currently doing well and that they are the biggest blessings in her life. She currently works part time for Tennessee’s Early Intervention Program as a parent adviser and lives in Smyrna, TN.
